Gelatocraft
Full branding and concept development
Task:
Gelatocraft is an up and coming high end, premium Italian artisanal gelato concept in Dubai. They are the inventors of "Bella Tahini Bonbons" and create unique gelato flavors. In order for them to gain market recognition, they require a very strong brand presence and a visual appeal that stands out from the rest of the noise. The desserts market in the UAE is highly competitive, with 1000s of companies offering all sorts of options. As they operate as a cloud kitchen as delivery only, their only point of contact with the consumer is online and via their packaging. In order to convey the high quality, premium standards of the brand, we were tasked to do exactly this. Create an umbrella brand for Gelatocraft, and a unique product position brand for Bella Tahini.
Our approach:
First, we do a market study to see exactly what everyone else is doing. We look at their websites, their social media and any other cross over industries (desserts, ice cream, sweets). We see what we like, we see what is working, and ignore everything else.
Then we look at how the market percieves the product. Does Dubai understand the difference between gelato and ice cream? What is the difference between the two? Do we need to focus on educating them via the branding/website/marketing? As they are a premium brand, what are other premium brands doing in similar industries? Once we have a pretty good answer to that, we move forward and start the brain storming > mock ups > market reaction > repeat > finalize > launch.
